They are made to be used in many different applications, but they work particularly well for supplying power to LEDs, drivers, and other switching power sources. ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines of sensor units for consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication use are protected against voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lighting. Electronic devices are protected from transient voltage surges and surges in the AC line voltage by transient voltage surge suppressors. By restricting the voltage at the outlet to a safe level, they protect delicate electronics.
