An aluminum layer is covered with a thin layer of silicon to create Schottky barrier rectifiers. The forward voltage drop of these is extremely minimal. The single and dual voltage applications are intended for these surface mount Schottky barrier rectifiers. Switching power supplies, DC-DC converters, motor and small pump power supplies, solar panels, and solar cells are just a few of the uses for which they are ideal. The Schottky barrier in these bridge rectifiers functions as a diode and is an excellent substitute for diodes.
