Transmissive Optical switch sensor with Phototransistor Output photo interrupter sensor

This is a transmissive sensor that include an infrared emitter and phototransistor, located face-to-face on the optical axes in a leaded package which blocks visible light. When the light emitted by IR LED is blocked because of alternating slots on the encoder disc logic level of the photo diode changes. The microcontroller or discrete hardware can detect this shift in logic level.
