Potentiometers are excellent tools for adjusting a system's electrical properties. It has a rotating knob and a single-turn 47k potentiometer. Rotating potentiometers are another name for these potentiometers. For aesthetic reasons, this POT may also be used in conjunction with a potentiometer knob. That works best for adjusting the lights or a fan, but maybe not for the volume. The human ear is not linear, therefore volume settings must take this into account. Instead, pots like this one that is logarithmic grow in resistance over time. Around the halfway point, the volume will still be reasonable, but as you continue to turn it up, it will rise dramatically. The way the human ear hears is the same as this. So, using a log pot has the effect of making a full-volume setting on the control seem twice as loud as a half-volume setting. With the minimal visible change over the rest of the control's range, a linear pot employed as a volume control would provide noticeable loudness shifts at low-volume settings. Its construction involved the use of high-carbon steel. The three pins on this rotary potentiometer are held by a traditional D-shaped shaft, which gives it a classic and timeless appearance. It can be used as a knob or a potentiometer among other things.
