BU407 is a three-layer NPN device that operates within its operating range; the collector current IC is a function of the base current IB and a change in the base current results in an amplified change in the collector current for a certain collector-emitter voltage. These are high-voltage, high-speed transistors used in the horizontal deflection output stages of televisions and CRTs. Reduced switching and conduction losses derive from fast switching times and very low saturation voltage.
