It should be noted that the heat sink will double as the transistor's collector pin; as a result, the circuit should be divided from the heat sink. Due to its maximum collector current and current gain, Toshiba originally intended the high-power 2SA1943 PNP power transistor for use in AF amplifiers or audio circuits needing high power. This semiconductor-made power transistor is built with at least three terminals for connecting to an external circuit. Because the output power is greater than the input power, when current or voltage is delivered to one pair of terminals in this transistor, it regulates the flow of current in the other pair of terminals. It should be noted that the heat sink will also serve as the collector pin for the transistor, therefore it should be isolated from the rest of the circuit.
