KY-039 Finger Heartbeat Detection Sensor Module

The KY-039 Finger Heartbeat Detection Sensor measures the heartbeat or pulse of the wearer. To detect and analyze heart rate, it's a tiny, portable sensor that attaches quickly to an Arduino or other microcontroller. The finger clip on the sensor attaches to the finger, and the infrared sensor tracks blood flow through the finger. The sensor generates an analog output signal that can be read by the microcontroller. The LED is located on the light side of the finger, and the phototransistor is located on the opposite side of the finger. When the phototransistor's resistance is slightly altered, the flux that is released when the finger's blood pressure pulses are measured using a phototransistor. Since the majority of light traveling through the finger is absorbed, it serves as a suitable phototransistor, so we selected a very high-resistance resistor R1. The stray light shield must remain inside the phototransistor at all times. The illumination in homes is mostly dependent on fluctuating frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz, thus even a small amount of noise from a faint heartbeat will be audible.
