74HC373 Octal D-Type Latch 3-State Output IC DIP-20 Package
The 74HC373 is an octal D-type latch IC with 3-state outputs, available in a 20-pin DIP package. Designed for data latching and buffering applications, this IC contains eight latches with individual D inputs and Q outputs, enabling it to store and control data for up to eight bits at a time. Its design makes it suitable for a range of digital applications, especially where data needs to be temporarily held or controlled for bus-oriented systems. In the 74HC373, each latch can be set to either a high or low state based on the logic level at its input. The device includes a latch enable (LE) pin, which controls data latching: when the LE pin is high, the data present on the D inputs is transferred to the Q outputs. When the LE pin is low, the data remains latched, retaining its current state even if the input data changes. The IC also has an output enable (OE) control, which can put the outputs in a high-impedance state, allowing it to be used effectively in systems with shared data lines.
