74HC374 3-State Output Octal D-Type Flip-Flop SMD IC
The 74HC374 is an Octal D-Type Flip-Flop IC with 3-state outputs and is available in an SMD package. It contains eight D-type flip-flops arranged in a parallel configuration, which allow for synchronization of data inputs and clock signals. The outputs are tri-state or high-impedance, which makes it ideal for use in bus systems or other applications where the outputs may need to be disconnected or “floating” when not in use. This 3-state feature enables the IC to work effectively in multi-device configurations where more than one device needs to access the same bus or signal line. The IC’s D-type flip-flops latch data based on the input clock signal (positive edge-triggered), storing the data present at the D input when the clock signal transitions from low to high. The 3-state outputs can either be actively driven high or low, or placed in a high-impedance state, depending on the state of the output enable pin. This allows multiple devices to share common data lines without interference.
