The CD4518 is a Dual BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) Up Counter IC housed in a DIP-16 package, designed for counting applications in digital systems. It contains two independent 4-bit BCD counters, making it suitable for applications such as digital clocks, frequency counters, event counters, and other sequential counting tasks that require decimal outputs. Each 4-bit counter within the CD4518 can count from 0 to 9 (BCD format) and resets to zero upon reaching its maximum count.
