The CD40106 is a Hex Schmitt Trigger Inverter IC housed in a DIP-14 package. This IC contains six independent inverters, each with a Schmitt Trigger input, making it suitable for digital signal processing in noisy or unstable environments. The Schmitt Trigger input provides hysteresis, which helps eliminate noise and ensures clean, stable logic transitions when the input signal fluctuates around the threshold voltage. This feature is particularly useful for improving the performance of digital circuits when dealing with slow or noisy input signals. Each of the six inverters in the CD40106 operates on a single logic signal, inverting it from high to low or low to high, depending on the input.
